Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: estar harto(a) de / hartarse de

Introduction: We discussed our plans for the weekend.

Development: Students worked in small groups to complete a verb activity from an old AP exam. All answers were gone over on the board.

Home assignment: There was no assignment given for this weekend.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Introduction and Development: Students used the magazines they brought in to do a creative project, called a "personal dictionary entry". Cutting and pasting pictures from the magazines, students created a collage about them. On the back of the collage, students wrote a minimum of 10 sentences describing themselves, their interests, their families by using the 3rd person.

Home assignment: Students were asked to study and read up to page 15 in their texts.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Introduction: Students saw a power point, testing their knowledge of the 5A vocabulary.

Development: With their vocabulary lists, students completed a fill-in the blank activity based on the new 5A vocabulary and the use of the preterite. This was gone over on the board.

Conclusion: After further oral review of the new vocabulary, students completed a crossword puzzle activity. This was also collected.

Home assignment: Students were asked to continue studying chapter 5A vocabulary and begin reviewing the uses and formations of the preterite tense.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: tenir à

Introduction: Students went over the dictée from yesterday. We discussed the grammatical and structural points of the activity, focusing on the rules of agreement of the past participle.

Development: Using the worksheets given out earlier in the week, students received a more detailed introduction to the use and rules of the past participle in French.

Home assignment: Students were encouraged to take a look at chapters 2 and 12 in the text to get a better idea about the rules of agreement of the past participle in French.
