Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: romper con alguien

Introduction: We briefly discussed what happened in the last two chapters.

Development: We discussed the final two chapters and how they round out the first part of the overall text.

Conclusion: We wrapped up the first part of the Popol Vuh with the question: "What titles can we give to each chapter?"

Home assignment: Make sure that all the questions for each chapter are completed. Test on the Popol Vuh is next Thursday.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Introduction: Students discussed and went over the completed ALLER worksheet done at home.

Development: Students worked in pairs to complete Activity 8 on page 22. Students also reviewed the use of the stress pronouns.

Conclusion: Students lined up in two rows. With the person across from them, students were given a topic to discuss with their partner. They were asked to begin each response with a stress pronoun.

Home assignment: Continue studying for the upcoming test on "Reprise" on Monday.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Introduction: Students were briefly asked to differentiate between preterite and imperfect.

Development: Students received a four-page packet asking students to look a little deeper in order to determine whether a verb should be conjugated in the preterite or the imperfect tense. We covered the first two pages of this packet. Additionally, three sentence starters were put on the board. In pairs, students came up with different ways to complete these sentence starters using vocabulary from chapter 5A.

Conclusion: Students complete a brief exit pass dealing with the vocabulary from chapter 5A as well as recognition and use of the preterite tense.

Home assignment: Bring the packet back tomorrow.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: pour des prunes / des prunes!

Introduction: Students provided examples of the above expressions in everyday situations.

Development: Students took a quiz on the rules of agreement of the past participle and the passé composé.

Home assignment: Continue examining and studying the rules of past participle agreement.
