Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Today's phrase of the day was...nos guste o no. We discussed the use of the subjunctive in nominal clauses today. We discussed the difference between different verbs...some that take the subjunctive and others that don't. Students explained why in both cases. We also took a look at text, page 191 and 192, asking students to orally provide a variety of responses to sentence-starters...again some using the subjunctive and some the indicative. We changed up the activity also by changing the tense of the WEDDINGS verb from present to past, to verify that students use the correct form of the imperfect subjunctive. Students will have a quiz tomorrow on nominal clauses.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students took their Lesson 1 quiz today. After the quiz, we, as a class, read the VIDEO SCENE for lesson 2. We met Corinne and Armelle. Students also became aware of the verb être, or, "to be" in French. Students will re-read the VIDEO SCENE as well as study up to page 46 for tomorrow's class.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Students received back all of the graded assignments from last week. Some of these were gone over and any questions were answered. Students began class by warming up with "Writing Audio Video" workbook page 96. Students also received the vocabulary list for chapter 5B. Students were asked to start studying this new vocabulary for tomorrow.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

Today's phrase of the day was...s'en remettre à. Students saw a power point on the uses of the subjunctive...how and when to use it and conjugate it correctly. Students worked in pairs to come up with words or expressions that fit each category of WEIRDSONG. Students will continue to bring their textbooks each day this week. Students also got back some graded work from last week.
