Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: zurdo / diestro / ambidiestro

Students took a quiz today on the uses of the subjunctive or the indicative in nominal and relative clauses. After the quiz, students continued their study of hypothetical situations using clauses with the word si. Students worked together to complete a practice worksheet providing different examples of these. They will have another quiz on the subjunctive on Thursday.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students warmed up with a board activity using the verb être. Students then read the "Video Scene" for lesson 3, picking out the various expressions with avoir. Students were asked to make a guess based on context and/or previous knowledge what these expressions meant. Students took turns reading and discussing the dialogue. Students concluded the class by practicing the verb avoir. Students' exit pass was text, page 57, activities 1 and 2. Students were asked to read and study pages 56 and 58, talking about the verbs avoir and faire for next class.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Students began class by completing a worksheet testing their knowledge of telling of past events using the preterite and imperfect progressive. Students developed this concept by completing a listening activity from the "Writing Audio Video" workbook, page 102, activity 9. Students were also led through a writing activity from the same workbook, on page 104, testing the irregular preterite forms. Students will complete "Practice" workbook page 107 for next class. As a reminder, students will have a test by the end of next week.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT
