Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: chantaje / chantajear

Students finished the reading of the Cueva de Salamanca. They received several other worksheets talking about main themes and the role of "magic" in the work. Students will have a quiz on Tuesday of next week.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students took their quiz today on lesson 7. They will start taking a look at lesson 8 for Monday.

Period 5 - Spanish 3


Students took another quiz on lesson 6B. Then they saw episode 4 of La Catrina. They were asked to bring the activity packet back on Monday to finish going over in class.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

There was no phrase of the day today.

Using their textbooks as resources, students completed a two-sided activity utilizing the various negative expressions. We went over part 4 together since we never formally discussed the idea of "only" in class. All assignments were handed in. Students will have a quiz on Tuesday on the negative constructions in French.

Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: por un lado...por el otro lado

Today we started reading the entremés by Cervantes. We got up to page 150. Students will finish the work for tomorrow.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students watched the Video scene for lesson 7 and completed all of the accompanying activities to the Video. They also completed the last workbook writing activity. They will have their quiz tomorrow on lesson 7.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Students received a 3-page packet today using the present perfect and working with the indirect object pronouns. These were then gone over on the board. Students also completed "Practice" workbook pages 122, 124 and 125 in preparation for a quiz tomorrow.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: être en chômage / chômage / être mis(e) au chômage technique

Students continued working with the negative expressions. We paid particular attention today to the expressions ne...guère and ne...aucun(e). To wrap up class, we discussed text, page 196, activity A. Students were asked to study all of chapter 9 for tomorrow.

Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: los titulares / al saberse la noticia

Students began reading La cueva de Salamanca in class today. They were asked to read the entire packet for Thursday.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students completed a writing activity today, pretending to write a postcard to a Canadian friend. Students will see the Video scene for lesson 7 on Thursday and will have a quiz on Friday on this lesson.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Students completed "Writing Audio Video" workbook pages 119 and 120 (activity7). They also completed "Practice" workbook, pages 126 and 128.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: C'est la cerise sur le gâteau.

Students continued working with the negative expressions and their placement in both simple and past tenses.

Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: destacar un tema

Students began studying about the legend of the Cueva de Salamanca. Students received several worksheets talking about the legend. Students received a brief packet introducing them to the major themes of the upcoming entremés. Students will read up to page 39 for tomorrow. Students also received the actual entremés by Cervantes.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students did some more work with the passé composé today using être and the verb ALLER. Students completed page 125 activity 6 today. These answers were gone over on the board. Students also completed several more activities from the workbook, including some of the brief writing topics. Students will complete text, page 127, activity 9 for homework. Students will have a quiz on lesson 7 on Thursday.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

As we were rushed on Friday to complete the viewing of and discussion of CATRINA episode #3, we watched the episode again today. This provided us the time to complete the various activities and comprehension questions with the episode. These questions were completed in small groups at the end of class, and they were collected.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: Nous y voilà.

Students started looking at negation today and the various combinations of positive and negative words. Students identified these opposites in a table format. After, students completed a worksheet turning positive sentences into negative ones. Students will complete another worksheet for homework.
