Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GTPhrase of the day:
tomar aliento / tomar a pechoStudents read about the different rules for using and not using the different articles. We disucssed the activity on page 269 in the text. Students were asked to re-read the rules and study them, along with completing text, pages 265-266, activities 1-6. There will be a quiz on Friday on this topic.
Periods 2 and 3 - French 2Students used today again to continue working on their projects. Due to technological issues, the project due date has been extended to Monday. The students will also have their test on unit 2 on Monday as well.
Period 5 - Spanish 3Students received two worksheets today, functioning as a review for
La Catrina. These worksheets were gone over on the board and discussed extensively in class. Students received a third worksheet, which was a description of episode 5 written by Mr. Doff. The students have to re-write this brief 2-paragraph description in the past tense, deciding between the preterite, imperfect or imperfect progressive. This is due tomorrow.
Period 6 - French 5 AP/GTPhrase of the day:
Ce n'est pas la mer à boire.Students handed in their homework assignment. Students then received a worksheet asking them to translate 11 different sentences using
se couper les cheveux, ranging from basic present tense to the subjunctive with the
faire causatif. Students ended class by getting into teams of three, and rewriting sentences using this complex construction. All answers were put on the board and each team then had to critique the work of the other team. Students will have a quiz on Friday on this topic.
