Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

There was no phrase of the day today.

Students completed another worksheet practice using the past tenses. Students also listened to and completed "Short Narratives" sections 1 and 2.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students discussed the mid-term review sheet. We will be watching the video for lesson 8 tomorrow and continue studying for the midterm exam next week.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Students warmed up today with a grid activity, asking them to write the names of different food items in a grid with different categories of food. This was a nice practice using the chapter 7A vocabulary. Students also were introduced to the informal commands in Spanish. We did this by writing a recipe for paella. The recipe was written on the board and students were asked to identify the means of forming these commands.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

There was no phrase of the day today.

Students took their end of marking period 2 test today. This covered relative pronouns, the faire factitif, negation, and the use of the gerund/present participle.

TODAY WAS A 2-HOUR DELAYED OPENING DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.

Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT


There was no phrase of the day today.

Students completed two worksheets. One was reviewing the use of the preterite and imperfect. The other tested their knowledge of verbs in different contexts, either subjunctive, indicative or infinitive.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students continued to present their videos. Students, at the end of class, were provided a list of 25 review questions that will help to prepare them for the midterm exam next week. They should work on these for tonight and be ready to discuss them starting tomorrow.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Students received a worksheet helping to use the new vocabulary from chapter 7A. This was completed with their vocabulary lists. All worksheets were collected at the end of class.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

There was no phrase of the day today.

Students were given the class period to ask questions in preparation for tomorrow's test. We discussed all four major areas of the test, and even completed a couple of activities from the text in preparation for the exam. The test will cover the gerund, relative pronouns, negation and the faire factitif.

Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: abrir fuego

Students completed "Paragraphs without the Root Word" section 1 and "Formal Writing" section 1 today in class.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

We started presenting the projects that students spent the last week working on. We will continue and finish these presentations tomorrow.

AFTER PERIOD 3, IT WAS ANNOUNCED THAT WE WOULD BE DISMISSED ONE HOUR EARLY TODAY DUE TO INCOMING INCLEMENT WEATHER.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Students handed in their homework from last night, which were two worksheets, a crossword and the comprehension questions for episode 6 of La Catrina.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

There was no phrase of the day today.

Students completed "Verbs" section 3. The answers were put on the board. Students were reminded of the test on Thursday.

Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

There was no phrase of the day today.

Students got back their article quizzes. Students also completed "Informal Writing" section 4 and "Informal Speaking" section 1.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students took their unit 2 exams today.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Students saw episode #6 of La Catrina. Students completed the activities packet. They will complete the comprehension questions and a crossword for tomorrow.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

There was no phrase of the day today.

Students completed "Rejoinders" section 9 and "Verbs" section 2. Students will have a test on Thursday addressing all of the grammar taught this marking period. They were given a complete listing of these topics in class today. Students also got back their faire factitif quizzes.
