Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: ser de lana (plata)

Students wrapped up their disucssion of Yerma. They completed one more written grade on the play and was handed in. They will view the movie at the beginning of next week.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students designed and decorated their own poissons d'avril and displayed them on the board.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Students completed one more worksheet for the marking period, a pop quiz on the subjunctive. We will continue to study chpater 8A on Monday.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

There was no phrase of the day today.

Students discussed the introductions and conclusions they wrote for the essay question from the 2010 (B) AP exam. They were asked to keep these materials as they will write the full essay next week.

Today students finished discussing the play Yerma.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students continued to work with the new material in chapter 14.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Today, students did some more study using the subjunctive and the vocabulary from lesson 8A.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

Students discussed the 2010 AP exam, fill ins. For homework, students will write an introduction and a conclusion to the essay question. We will go over this in class tomorrow.

Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Phrases of the day: entretanto / asimismo

Students started to discuss Yerma today. They received guide questions for the play, and we talked about Act 1. Students got a crossword for homework.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students began looking at lesson 14 today; they accomplished this by taking a look at the Video Scene for the chapter. Going around the room, students worked on translating the Video Scene into English. Students then orally discussed activity 1 from the chapter. They will complete activity 3 for homework and will be handed in tomorrow.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Students handed in their homework. Students also completed a warm up activity again focusing on the new vocabulary and the subjunctive. This was gone over on the board. Students also completed an airport activity, also gone over on the board, helped to test their knowledge of the new vocabulary. This activity was collected.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: myope comme une taupe

Students completed the Function Words and Verb sections of the 2010 AP exam. We also took a look at the essay and discussed how to write a solid introduction to the topic.

Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Students went into the Dell Lab today and completed "Informal Speaking" section 7 today. We then returned to the classroom and listened to some online speaking samples of students in previous years. Students will make sure to read Yerma for tomorrow.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students completed some worksheets today dealing with and wrapping up the vocabulary from lesson 13. Students ended class by reviewing the verbs in the DR and MRS VANDERTRAMPP group. Students were asked to look at lesson 14 for tomorrow.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Students did some more work with the subjunctive, by completing some more worksheets. Students completed "Practice" workbook pages 152 and 159. Students got another worksheet using the subjunctive for homework due tomorrow.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: donner sa langue au chat

Students went into the Dell Lab today and completed the "Speaking" activities from the 2004 AP exam. We then returned to the classroom and listened to some online speaking samples of students in previous years.

Period 1 - Spanish 5 AP/GT

Phrase of the day: hacer buenas migas

Students listened to more speaking samples from our last visit to the Dell Lab. We will return to the Dell Lab tomorrow. Students were given a copy of Yerma and will complete the reading of this by Wednesday of this week.

Periods 2 and 3 - French 2

Students took a quiz today on lesson 13 from the overhead screen. Students ended class by talking with partners about what they like to do in their leisure time. This was activity 3 from lesson 13.

Period 5 - Spanish 3

Students received two worksheets on the use of the subjunctive. They then took a quiz on lesson 8A and the subjunctive. Students will complete a worksheet for tomorrow.

Period 6 - French 5 AP/GT

Students listened to each other's speaking samples completed in the Dell Lab from the 2002 AP exam. We will return to the lab tomorrow.
